The University of Reading reviewed and decided it was time to update their Alumni Magazine, which is distributed to some 80,000 Alumni biannually. The Editorial Boards aim was to attract a wider audience, while consolidating its appeal to the current readership (which has an age range between 20 and 106). The magazine must be at once interesting, informative, fun and attractive.

We were approached to design and produce a series of approximately 30 large format (A0) display panels for the School of Biosciences at the University of Reading. The aim of the panels was to provide information to visitors (and staff) about the breadth of work and research done within the school, as well as helping to brighten up areas of the building. We were asked to work within the new University brand, developing a style for display panels.

OCBS had initially been formed by volunteers and well wishers, which had resulted in no consistency and branding of their materials leaving an impression of lack of professionalism. To enable them to achieve their potential they needed to undergo a major fundraising initiative (of over £12,000,000) Lift were approached to produce a logo, brand, stationery, and brochure to enable OCBS to be seen as a major part of the Buddhist tradition today.
The University of Reading was to undergo a refurbishment of the cafŽ within the Science and Technology centre. The University decided to have the large floor to ceiling windows covered with a frosted glass effect. They wanted to create a design on them which would link the cafe with the rest of the centre and also fulfill the more practical requirement of restricting the view into the area.
The University of Reading hosted the ASE Conference 2006 and required a leaflet to summarise the University's latest research projects to demonstrate the great range of research which is carried out within the University. Work commenced December 2005.
Lift designed a series of fundraising materials for St Mary's Church in Reading, to help them raise almost a million pounds to renovate their building. The project involved an appeal logo, a folder and a series of information sheets about the Church and the reasons behind the appeal.
