International Universities Climate Alliance website

In 2026 The University of Reading took over as secretariat of the International Universities Climate Alliance. We were approached to redesign the website, and migrate it into WordPress.

We worked with the existing International Universities Climate Alliance (IUCA) brand guidelines, to develop a new design. The design needed to be clean, modern and inviting, and also be a progression from the previous version. We developed initial design proposals, refining them after discussion with the IUCA team.

As part of the redesign, we undertook a content audit and suggested changes to the website structure to help users navigate and find the content easier.

IUCA has academic members from across the world, and each one has their own dedicated members page on the website. On the old website, these were hard to find, and had inconsistent information and layout. We designed a new map search page, to make it easier for users to find the instiution they are looking for. We also redesigned the individual member page, with clearer signposting and consistent layout to make finding information easier.

The new IUCA website launched at the start of 2026, and we are already seeing increased vistor numbers and higher engagement time.
