We are a rostered web design agency for the University of Reading, and were approached to design and build a new web app for one of their departments.
They were looking at developing policy regarding LGBTQ+ international travel, and wanted to turn this into an online tool. This turned into the LGBTQ+ International Travel for Work Policy Development Tool.
Keeping within the University brand guidelines, we designed the user interface to be easy to use and follow. There were a number of questions for the users to complete, and we needed to give them a ‘sense of place’ within the process, so they knew where they were and what they needed to do next.
The web app was built in Rails, our favoured framework for custom sites. This allowed us to build a bespoke system to deliver exactly what the client needed. They wanted the user to have a seamless and easy journey completing the questions, and for them to be able to manage the content and download reports afterwards.
